This particular variety is primarily found in the American state of Utah. In the history of gemmology, jasper has been prized for thousands of years for its hardness and versatility, with the Picasso variety only gaining international popularity in modern times due to its graphic aesthetic.

Picasso Jasper is a metamorphosed limestone and, with approximately 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, is reasonably hard, although its limestone base makes it somewhat more sensitive than pure quartz. Store your bracelet separately and avoid hard knocks and contact with other jewellery.

As limestone is acid-sensitive, acidic liquids, perfume, soap, and lotion can damage or dull its surface. Keep your bracelet away from these, remove it before showering, swimming, and washing up, and do not leave the stone submerged in water for extended periods.

For care, wipe the beads with a soft, dry cloth and avoid chemical cleaners. This will help maintain the beauty of the abstract lines and matte finish.
